I am an English born (now living in Lexington Kentucky, USA) commissioned and Juried artist.

Although better known in the UK for my work in soft pastels, primarily landscapes and seascapes., having exhibited my work in major Galleries in London (Westminster Gallery and The Royal Horticultural Halls). My art graces the walls of art lovers in England, USA, Finland, Russia and Ukraine.

I took up painting seriously in the mid 1990’s when I bought a set of oil paints. This I thought was “real painting”! How wrong I was. I then transitioned into watercolor and gouache. I had some success with this media, but with a very high “mortality” rate. After a while I discovered soft pastel and I really took to them. This formed the basis of my artwork since t1hen.

After many years I decided to branch out into the world of abstract art and acrylic flow. I rally loved to see how the paint moved and the patterns it produced.Some experimentation followed in trying different techniques and paint solutions until I developed a mix and technique that suited my style of pour, tilt and swipe in order to achieve the brightest vivid patterns I desired.

I still enjoy this technique, but are drawn back to getting my fingers dusty using soft pastels.

Photography has also intrigued me. Using my observational skills and eye for composition, I found I could create some beautiful photographs. I also enjoyed looking at everyday objects with “a different eye” as I ventured into abstract photography and close ups. This has led me to look more into macro photography. A skill I am still learning, but thoroughly enjoying.
